However, perhaps you only have a day or two to get what them something perfect. What can you do to rescue the situation, and save yourself too? Sometimes, the perfect gift is tickets to an event. But if you haven’t been on the ball, it could be too late to get hold of some. Or the ones that are left might not be great. If you need to get sold-out tickets, you can almost always find them online. The problem is, they’re often at extremely inflated prices. Fortunately, there are more affordable options. Get Express Delivery

You’ve found the perfect gift, but you can only buy it online, and you’re meant to be giving it to someone tomorrow. If you choose the right seller and you order on time, you should be able to get their gift in the morning. Many retailers offer one-day delivery if you order before 12 pm or sometimes later. You can even get same-day delivery with sites like Amazon, as long as the service is offered in your area. Of course, you often have to pay more if you want your order to get to you more quickly.

Use a Placeholder

If there’s no time to get what you want, another option is to use a placeholder. It might not be the real thing, but if the real thing is good enough, it won’t matter. You could tell a little white about the reason you don’t have the gift yet if you don’t want to get in trouble. Or you could come clean and admit that you didn’t buy it in time. Your placeholder could just be a card promising whatever it is you’ve ordered. Or it could be another present to tide your giftee over until their main gift arrives.

Rush Out to the Shops

You’ve still got time for some quick shopping. If you can put some thought into your gift and maybe know a good store or two to visit, you can get them something they’ll love, and they will never know you bought it last minute. Of course, you run the risk of coming home empty-handed. But if you know your giftee well enough, you should be fine.

What’s more, it means that we can now take our workouts out of the gym and we can finally enjoy the fresh air. Ready to make the most of this great season? Here is a fantastic spring workout that will get you ready for the summer!

Get Back Into Jogging

Many people take a break from jogging through the winter. Or, at the very least, they swap running on the open road for pounding their gym’s treadmills. Now that the weather has turned, you’ll find that conditions outside are perfect for jogging outside again. It’ll feel nice and fresh outdoors, and won’t yet be too hot to get you all sweaty! If you haven’t jogged properly for a few months, you should spend some time getting back into the swing of things. Take things too fast too quickly, and you could develop shin splints! Take it nice and easy and don’t push yourself too hard for the first couple of weeks. Once your legs strengthen, you can start to take things up a notch!

Add Some Cycling

If you have trouble with your knees and ankles, you might be a bit wary of all the resistance that comes with jogging. But that’s ok; you can start cycling instead! After all, the gym will provide you with a space to work out in when the weather turns bad, and it starts to rain. You certainly won’t want to be outside then!

Fitness is itself a big industry, and it’s easy to see why: a lot of people are keen on keeping a certain shape, and for some it can even become slightly addictive. If you find that you are sick and tired of the same old gym, however, then you might want to start thinking about your alternatives.

One idea which is growing in popularity in recent years is that of building your own gym in the home. Home gyms have a few distinct advantages – no more waiting in traffic to get to your workout, no more being stared at by strangers. If you don’t properly plan out the space, then it will be all too easy to find yourself running out of space when the time comes to actually build the gym. So draw it up on paper if necessary, and figure out what the best layout of all the equipment is likely to be. You need plenty of space between each equipment so that you don’t feel too cramped, and you ideally want each one to be its own point of centre by itself. Spend as much time as you need to plotting it out; it really does make a huge difference to the finished product.

Which Equipment?

Everybody has their own favorites when it comes to choosing equipment, so you are probably well aware of what you would choose to include in your gym. Still, you might want to go back to the drawing board and see if you can decide finally what your ultimates would be. There is always a chance that you have forgotten one or two classic essentials which you definitely want, so it is worth looking into.

The Medicine We Don’t Know About

There are so many products out on the market nowadays to do with our health that it can be hard to know where to begin. We rarely know exactly what we want to change when it comes to our lifestyle and bodies; usually it’s a general idea, but so many items are aimed at specifics nowadays that it can be a minefield. 

You can walk into a store with a general perception of what we want, and walk out arms laden having spent a couple of hundred of dollars, having all of these things which can increase our metabolism, strengthen our stamina and promise hangover-free days following a night out from drinking … when all you wanted was something to perk you up in the daytime. So what can we look out for to get us to where we really need to be?

The most obvious option out there. Water is a miracle in itself. It helps to give us life, it sustains us, helps us to concentrate, gets our organs working … whatever the problem is, water is often the solution when it comes to our health. We need to be drinking a lot more of it. Take the amount that you’re drinking now and double it, and you may just come close. There are some pretty nifty products out on the market such as the bottle and app found on which will help you to monitor your consumption. It doesn’t have to be hard, and water is one of the most accessible things that we are lucky enough to have in first-world countries – so why aren’t we making more use of it? Get a good few liters inside you every day and feel the benefits. You will start to feel more energized, more alert and your concentration levels should be back somewhere around the point that they should be operating at.



Everyone has surely heard about the benefits of adding superfoods to your diet, but few know exactly what they are. These foods are packed with minerals, vitamins and antioxidants to help you boost your immune system and fend off any untoward illnesses that may occur. Chances are that you are already including some into your diet without realizing; kale, salmon and blueberries are all terrific examples of superfoods, amongst many others. It’s not hard to get them into your diet once you know what they are, and the benefits of eating them are tremendous.



The old adage is that laughter is the best form of medicine, but it could be doing more for your health than you think. Not only does it burn around 40 calories if you’re laughing for 10 – 15 minutes a day (and who wouldn’t want to aim for that amount?!) but it is great for relaxing the body and naturally releasing endorphins and antibodies into the immune system that will help to lower the risk of heart disease. Spring and Summer Style Trends For Children

As of late you might have been thinking about what to wear or buy for your spring and summer wardrobe. That warmer weather has got to be on the way, right? But while you’re thinking about your style, it is time to get thinking about your little one’s style too. The good news is that a lot of the same trends can carry over to our children. So if you need to do a little bit of shopping for the coming months, here are some styles to look out for, so that your children are right on trend.


Even though our Coachella days may be over, we can still channel it with our little ones with some festival style. Think fringed sandals, flower crowns, cutoff denim shorts, and skirts. Brightly colored jumpsuits will work well for the style. Not forgetting to add sunglasses too, of course. Stella McCartney has a kids military jacket that would work really well for the style, too. So if you’ve got a bigger budget, it could be a piece to invest in.

White Lace

White is such a stunning color for spring and summer. With some kids, the thought of wearing white could be a bit of a nightmare. For others, it could work well for a special occasion. A white lace dress, cardigan or skirt would be a great way to wear it. If an all white outfit would be too much, then you could choose white lace hair scrunchies or headbands, so that they can give a nod to the white lace trend.


I am not sure when denim will ever be out of trend. But even better when the whole family is going to be kitted out in it. Shorts and skirts from denim work well for spring and summer, as well as some cute overalls or shortalls. Denim dresses or denim pinafores can look really cute on younger girls this coming season as well. Boys could rock a denim short with some chino shorts for sure.


While the flora trend might not be working for your boys (unless it is a short or swimming shorts), there are plenty of options for girls this coming season. The Dolce and Gabbana Kids collection has a massive nod to the floral trend this season. From espadrilles to swimsuits, to dresses, and hats. There is so much floral around the stores for spring and summer. It is a really cute look to wear that works well for both smart and casual.


If there was ever a pattern or material that screamed summer, then I think it would have to be gingham. The checked pattern of it looks so cute, dainty, and girly. So think it will work well for both mother and daughter to wear over the coming weeks and months. From headbands to dresses or just a skirt, there are several options to choose from, depending on how subtle you want the look to be.

The Wrong Way To Set A Dinner Party On Fire

Nothing beats a good dinner party. By this age, you and your friends have kids, jobs, and other commitments. Finding the time to get together can be tough. 

Dinner parties are ideal, because they mean you don’t have to get a babysitter. Plus, they don’t cost as much as going out does. And, let’s be honest, money is always hard to come by once you’re a parent! But, there’s no denying that dinner parties bring their own pressures.
As host, it all falls on you. A dinner party disaster will soon become a memory you all laugh at. But, it never feels funny at the time. You can put as much effort into your party planning as you like, but sometimes, things still escape you. Here’s how to cope when it all goes wrong!


Let’s be honest; kitchen appliances have a habit of breaking at the worst possible times. The oven cuts out on Thanksgiving morning. The fridge stops working when it’s filled with food. Don’t think your dinner party is free from these disasters. Instead, set a plan in place for if your oven decides it doesn’t want to cook on the day. Write down the number of a company like City Appliance Repair, and call them the moment something happens. The repair time may set you back, but it’s better than not having anything to serve. And, there’s no need to hide what’s happened from your guests. When they arrive, explain why the food might be a bit late. They’re sure to laugh!



No amount of preparation can save you from the odd missing ingredient. You know the ones – pesky ingredients that are easy to forget, but somehow form a crucial part of your meal. If you notice you’re missing something, head straight to the shop. Don’t spend time beating yourself up. Let it go, and get what you need. The faster you are, the better. Of course, there is the risk of your local shop not having it. If that’s the case, you’re going to have to think on your feet and tweak the recipe. The internet can be a real help in situations like these. Search for alternatives. There are ways around everything! It might be worth doing this before you leave for the shop. Just in case…


Did you notice how this is very much a worst until last situation? Cooking disasters are every host’s nightmare. And, let’s be honest; our food often fails when we’re cooking to impress. The best way to avoid a disaster on the night is to practice the meal beforehand! In fact, it might be best to choose something you’ve cooked many times. If you’re trying a new recipe, though, have a practice run. Prepping on the day can also be a huge help. Pre-cook anything you can so you have less to do when you’re distracted by guests. That way, you have time to redo if you need to.

How to Decorate a Large Wall in Your Home

Bring Functionality Back Into Your Kitchen

We often hear that the kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s where we cook (arguably a very ‘homey’ kind of activity), it’s where we eat and in many cases, it’s where we socialize. This notion of the kitchen being a hub for so many different uses has seen a huge rise in the number of kitchen accessories on the market at the moment. These days, you are just as likely to see a huge range of kitchen decor in a homeware store as you are to see a selection of items designed for dressing up your bedroom, or living room. But our obsession with making our kitchens pretty, aesthetic spaces has meant that one key factor has suffered as a result: functionality. 

Of course, it’s only natural that most of us dream of a beautiful, stylish kitchen, especially if the rest of our home is styled to within an inch of its life. Consistency, as we all know, is part of the secret to great interior design, and often a great-looking kitchen is a catalyst to you wanting to spend more time in there in the first place. But, it can also be a curse when it comes to how usable your kitchen actually is. For example, maybe you went a little over the top with the minimalist trend, and now you have virtually nowhere to store your pots and pans. Or perhaps you are a lover of busy bohemian styles, and your surfaces are so jam packed with trinkets you barely have enough room to prepare food. Whatever your scenario is, you should never have to sacrifice functionality just to get a visually stunning home.
Here are a few ways you can put purpose back into your kitchen, so it’s a place that works for YOU – not the other way around.

Have everything you need within easy reach

More often than not, we tend to have those kitchen implements that we reach for time and time again. Maybe you are the queen of the one pot dish, and therefore you use your wok pretty much every day. Or perhaps you swear by your slow-cooker and make a selection of meals in it at least a couple of times a week. Whatever it is, these are the kind of items it can be very helpful to have close to hand. After all, it may look cleaner and tidier to have them put away, but if you’re only going to need to scramble through draws to find them every day, there is little point in this.

Consider some alternative storage ideas for the things you use most – such as a bar to hang commonly used pots and pans from (just make sure it’s safe and secure first!). The same ethos can also apply to food. For example, most of us use salt and pepper in every single meal to season the food, so there’s no point having your grinders tucked away at the back of an already busy shelf. Buy some trays or baskets suitable for positioning on your kitchen worktop and pop all the spices and herbs you tend to need in there for ease of access. 

Have enough room for everything

On a slightly different note, you may also need to make sure you have enough room in your kitchen for everything you own. Once you have a family, it can feel as though the amount of kitchen items you own goes up tenfold. Lunch boxes, baking equipment, cookware and a much larger snack cupboard – it’s any wonder it’s not all spilling out of your front door! But what do you do when getting a kitchen extension is not an option?

Well, firstly, realize that you may simply be able to utilize the space you already have. Consider how much wall space you have. If there’s plenty going spare, why not have some kitchen wall cabinets installed? If it’s not going to intrude on the kitchen space you have, get some deep ones built which enable you to store many more things in there.
The same goes for your fridge freezer – if you’re still using the one you had before your little darlings arrived, you may need to rethink the decision to hold onto it! Most moms become pros at batch cooking, meaning your freezer will usually be chock-a-block. Upgrade to a larger one to enable you and you family to store much more food – it may seem like a huge expense, but bear in mind that it will save you money in the long run.
If you are concerned about how your kitchen will look with all this extra storage, remember you can get some hidden storage and food prep areas that seamlessly slot into your cabinets, so no one except you will ever know they are there.

The rule of the ‘golden triangle.’

If there was ever a rule for kitchen functionality, it is the rule of the ‘golden triangle.’ The golden triangle is also known as the ‘work triangle’ and has been defined by the National Kitchen and Bath Association as follows: ‘an imaginary straight line is drawn from the center of the sink to the center of the cooktop, to the center of the refrigerator and finally back to the sink.’ It is supposed to make your kitchen much more efficient and easier to operate in and is something people have sworn by for years. If you don’t already have the work triangle set up in your kitchen, consider having a re-shuffle to create one and see how it can change your cooking experience.

You can also bear in mind specific areas such as your sink – for example, make sure you have space on the left to stack pots that are waiting to be cleaned and an area to the right where you can drain them once they have been washed.
